The Crosswalk

Every once in a while,
a seemingly-simple email comes around
that ends up being quite profound.
This is one of them.

We complain about the cross we bear,
but we don't realize it is preparing us
for the "dip in the road" that God can see
and we cannot.

Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine, after the rain....
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall;
But God's always ready, to answer your call....
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
a word from His lips, can calm every fear...
Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, by dawn's early light...
The Savior is waiting, somewhere above,
to give you His grace, and send you His love.
May God fill your day with blessings!!

I received this email and I have to pass it on. (I have no idea of its origin) It is profound. Can you relate?

We are each to carry "the cross" God has given to us. We often want the easy road - the one that takes the least effort and is pleasant or comfortable. We do not see how our heavy "load" (or burdens) are preparing us for what's ahead. We only see our own discomfort for today. (and often complain about them)

God DOES have a purpose and a plan. He gives us what we need for our journey. An athlete knows his coach is preparing him for the next level - pushing him, stretching him to reach higher/go deeper, challenging him to go the extra mile, testing his limits and building his muscles. We also should understand (and trust) that God is preparing us for what's in our future, knowing that HE will daily provide what we need for each season we walk through. Don't cast aside those things we don't think we need to learn.

The enemy loves to lull us into a false peace saying, "Don't worry - ALL is well - Relax!!" He sets the trap and waits for us to fall into it. God says, "Be alert! Be prepared - ready in season and out of season." He also assures us that we don't walk alone. He is right there - doing His part. We just need to do our part.

So when you feel God asking you to carry more than usual, don't argue with Him and justify why you shouldn't have to - Trust Him. Don't try to find the shortcut or the escape hatch - Co-operate with Him! Don't resist - Surrender to HIS plan.

I received this back in October and posted it on the Junior High Blog. It's such a simple message and yet we don't see it when we are in it.
This message is so powerful.
Thanks for posting it.
